Mill Creek Proposition 1 Police/Fire Levy Passes

Mill Creek voters have seemingly passed Proposition 1, the Police/Fire Levy which would see a 0.1% sales tax increase, the proceeds of which would go towards funding new public safety measures. As of 10:38pm, the measure was passing with 68% approval from 3,943 votes.

A majority vote is all that’s required for the new tax to be put into effect, with the expectation that it’ll bring in $160,000 per year to go towards police protection in Mill Creek and avoiding the planned cuts to the law enforcement budget. There will be a council meeting on December 4 where a new budget will be adopted.
