About Us

According to Wikipedia, Mill Creek is a city in Snohomish County, Washington, United States. It is located approximately 20 miles north-northeast of downtown Seattle and is part of the Seattle metropolitan area. The 2010 census recorded the population of Mill Creek at 18,244.

Mill Creek was officially incorporated on August 30, 1983. The city has rapidly grown, with a large number of families and jobs and now contains a mixed-use, city-sponsored complex in the Mill Creek Town Center. Recently, many new restaurants, apartment complexes, and shopping destination have been built in the area. The population growth has also attributed to a much larger high school, going from a 2A school at its inception (1994) to a 4A school at around 2,000 students.

Mill Creek is also home to several parks and recreational facilities. These include Heron Park, Willis Tucker Park, Pine Meadow Park, Nickel Creek Park, Cougar Park, and the Mill Creek Sports Park. There is also the private golf course around which the original community was built, as well as a nature preserve through which Penny Creek flows. County parks located near the city include McCollum Park and North Creek Park.

About Mill Creek Beat

Andru Edwards & Taylor Peterson Mill Creek Beat

Mill Creek Beat is run by Andru Edwards and Taylor Peterson. We started Mill Creek Beat in October 2011 as the one-stop place to get updated on everything going on in our community. Andru is a well-known Seattle-area journalist, blogger, and public speaker, running the popular Gear Live website since 2004. Taylor is a friendly event planner for Fortune 500 companies, making friends everywhere she goes.

While living in the Mill Creek area, the couple recognized that the area lacked a dedicated news source and community forum. The hope is that residents and visitors to the area will help contribute to Mill Creek Beat, submitting news tips, stories, articles, and reviews to help create a true neighborhood resource. How can you be a part of it? Let us know about any interesting neighborhood news you come across. New store (or store closure)? Road construction? Crime? Traffic accident? Lost pet? Community event? Send us the details at [email protected]

Andru and Taylor are excited to hear from you, and you can follow them on their various social media channels:
